Tremron Construction in Houston, CA | Barrett & Sons Construction

We’re Barrett & Sons Construction, and we provide independent Tremron paver and wall installation, repair, and replacement across Houston. Tom Barrett has been laying hardscape since 1998, and what sets our Tremron work here apart is simple: we do it for Houston’s clay soil, not against it. If your Tremron patio is waving or your paver driveway has pulled apart at the joints, call (877) 610-1318 and we’ll tell you straight what’s going on.

Why Houston Residents Choose Us for Tremron Service

Most crews can lay a paver. Few understand what happens to it five years later on Beaumont Clay. That’s the soil under most of Houston’s inner loop, and it’s the reason we’re so particular about base preparation. A Tremron Stonegate patio installed on a poorly compacted base here will start separating at the joints within a year or two. We see it constantly on infill teardowns in the Heights and Montrose, where the ground has been chewed up by demolition and the next crew doesn’t bother re-compacting.

Tom grew up in the San Fernando Valley watching foundation crews pour slabs on Van Nuys Boulevard with his dad. That’s where he learned that the job never lies. He brought that same eye to Houston’s paver work. We use genuine Tremron units whenever they’re available locally, and when a color run’s been discontinued, we’ll source matched aftermarket blocks and tell you upfront. No mystery material, no van-brand surprises. If you want to see what we do before you call, our Tremron sales & service page covers the full scope.

Common Tremron Construction Problems We Solve in Houston

  • Paver joint separation and edge collapse on new slabs. Houston’s Beaumont Clay expands and contracts seasonally, sometimes shifting inches. That movement pulls Tremron pavers apart at the joints and, if the edge restraint wasn’t set properly, the border rows start dropping off. This shows up within 12 to 18 months on new slabs in 77007 and 77008.
  • Efflorescence and freeze-thaw spalling from standing water. Houston averages over 50 inches of rainfall a year, and post-Harvey FEMA remapping has pushed finished-floor elevations up across the inner loop. That means more pavement slopes toward structures and more water sitting on unsealed Tremron pavers. The white mineral staining and surface flaking that follow are repair jobs we handle weekly.
  • Localized depressions from debris left under infill teardowns. When a 1920s bungalow comes down in Montrose and a townhome goes up, not every crew hauls out the old foundation pieces. We’ve found brick, concrete chunks, and rotted piers buried under freshly graded soil. Vehicle loads on a Tremron driveway above that debris will crack pavers in a year. We excavate before we re-lay.
  • Tree root intrusion lifting paver borders. Mature live oaks run along property lines all over Montrose and the Heights. Roots follow moisture under paver edges, and slowly they lift and displace Tremron borders. Cutting the root back and re-setting the base usually fixes it, but if the tree’s too close, we’ll redesign the border to give the roots room.
  • Neighbor injunctions over deed restrictions that show up after installation. This one’s uniquely Houston. A contractor can legally pour a Tremron paver driveway with no zoning setback, but if the lot sits in a deed-restricted Heights subdivision and nobody searched the title, a 1930s restriction can halt the job after the pavers are already ordered. We’ve seen it. We search title before we order material.

Tremron Service in Houston: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Houston is the only major US city without traditional zoning ordinances. That sounds freeing until you learn what it actually means on a build site. In the Heights, 77007 and 77008, municipal permits do not check deed restrictions. Only a title search reveals what a specific lot can legally have built on it. A contractor who skips that step before pouring a foundation or laying a Tremron driveway faces a neighbor-initiated injunction that city hall cannot fix. We’ve pulled pavers back off a finished patio because of a 1930s rear-yard hardscape cap nobody found until after installation. That stop-work risk doesn’t exist in Dallas or Austin the way it does inside the Houston loop. For a deeper look at how this shapes every project we run here, see our Houston service area page.

One job stays with us. On a teardown in 77007, we had just finished a 24-foot by 18-foot Tremron Stonegate paver patio when the homeowner’s neighbor cited a 1930s deed restriction against hardscape over 40% of the rear yard. We pulled the edge rows, re-cut the border to comply, and re-set the base without losing a single paver. Then we documented the title search for the next infill on the block. That’s what doing it right looks like here.

Tremron Models & Products We Service in Houston

We install and repair the full range of Tremron hardscape lines: Stonegate pavers, Mega-Arbel pavers, Olde Towne pavers, and Keystone-style retaining wall blocks. For replacements, we use genuine Tremron units whenever a local supplier has them in stock. When a color run’s discontinued, we’ll match an aftermarket block for caps or edge restraints and show you the difference before we lay it. We stock common sizes and colors for faster turnaround on Houston repair jobs, but we’re honest when a special order will take longer. One thing we will not do is rebuild a failed Tremron base on unstable clay. We excavate, re-compact, and then re-lay. The base is the job.

Tremron Service Pricing in Houston

Here’s what Tremron work typically runs in Houston, depending on scope and site conditions:

Tremron Service Typical Range
Paver Patio Installation (Tremron Stonegate) $3,500 - $11,000
Paver Driveway Installation (Tremron Mega-Arbel) $7,000 - $18,000
Concrete Driveway Installation (for Tremron paver border) $4,500 - $12,000
Driveway Replacement (remove old + Tremron pavers) $5,000 - $14,000

What drives cost in Houston more than anything is what’s under the surface. If we’re working over recent teardown fill, we’re going to excavate deeper and re-compact. If the property sits in a revised FEMA flood zone and the finished floor’s been raised, drainage and slope work add to the scope. Every quote we write is a line-item scope in writing, with allowances on paper, whether for hardscape or Bathroom Remodeling - Houston projects. Call (877) 610-1318 to schedule a free estimate, and we’ll price your project against your actual site conditions, not a brochure.
