Tremron Driveway & Pavers: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Tremron-compatible driveway pavers and retaining wall block across Los Angeles, with most paver driveway repairs running between $826 and $4,130 depending on how many units failed and what’s underneath them. If you’ve got a cracked Tremron paver, a sunken section of driveway, or a retaining wall that’s starting to lean after a rain, we can usually match the exact series and color the same week. Most Los Angeles homeowners discover the problem the same way: a paver that shifted under a car tire, or a line of pavers that suddenly look like a staircase.
Tremron makes a solid product. What fails around here is usually what’s under it: the base, the sand, the drainage, or the original install. We fix the whole system, not just the piece you can see.
Which Tremron Models This Applies To
Tremron’s lineup in Los Angeles breaks into a few families you’ll recognize if you’ve got their paperwork or can find a stamp on the back of a paver. The Mega-Lafitt and Mega-Arbel lines are the big-format pavers you see on higher-end driveways, with face widths from 6 to 12 inches and depths from 60mm to 80mm. The Tremron Classic and Olde Jacksonville series are the workhorse 4×8 and 6×9 units, often in three-piece bundles, and they’ve been installed all over the Valley and the Westside for 20 years. If you’ve got retaining wall block, you’re likely looking at StoneWall or Winchester series.
Here’s the thing that trips people up: Tremron colors with the same name are not always a perfect match across manufacturing years. A “Sierra Blend” paver poured in 2012 has slightly different pigment than one poured in 2023, just from quarry source changes. When we match a repair in Los Angeles, we pull colors from the same batch range when we can, and when we can’t, we’ll tell you plainly before we lay anything. Barrett & Sons Construction is an independent Los Angeles contractor, not affiliated with Tremron, so we’ll also show you aftermarket equivalents from Belgard and Techo-Bloc when they save you money and match better. We stock KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone parts for our kitchen work too, but hardscape matching is its own craft.
To identify what you have: flip a loose paver and look for the Tremron name and a series stamp, or measure it. A 60mm paver on a driveway that should have 80mm pavers is the single most common compatibility gotcha we see when a previous installer cut costs. The thinner paver can’t carry vehicle weight over time, and the fix is more than swapping pieces.
Signs Your Tremron Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- A single paver sank below the surrounding surface after rain. That’s almost always base washout under that spot, not a bad paver. Water found a way under the edge and carried the sand out. Fixing the paver without fixing the drainage means doing it again next winter.
- Hairline cracks running through multiple pavers in a straight line. That line usually follows a vehicle wheel track, and it means the base compacted unevenly. The pavers cracked because they were carrying the load the base was supposed to carry.
- Sand between joints washes out every time it rains hard. Polymeric sand should lock those joints for years. If it’s disappearing, water is moving under the pavers, not over them, and you’re losing base material with it.
- Retaining wall block leaning or separating at the top. In Los Angeles hillside lots, this is often hydrostatic pressure from behind the wall after a wet season. The blocks are fine, but water trapped behind them will push the whole wall out over time if there’s no weep path.
- A low spot that collects water and doesn’t drain. Pavers don’t fail from holding water; the subgrade under them does. The puddle is a symptom, and the fix starts below the sand.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included
For Tremron driveway and paver work in Los Angeles, here’s the range we quote most often, installed:
- Single paver replacement (matching at the repair area): $118-$355 per location, depending on whether we’re re-bedding the base or just replacing surface pieces.
- Section repair, re-leveling, and re-sanding (up to 100 sq ft): $826-$2,596.
- Full paver driveway installation with new base: $8,260-$21,240, using the figures we’ve published for Los Angeles.
- Paver patio installation: $4,130-$12,980.
- Retaining wall rebuild or repair: priced by the block count and wall height after we see it, usually between $1,180 and $5,900 for the repairs we do most in Los Angeles hillside yards.
What’s included: removal and haul-off of the failed section, base compaction and re-grading where the failure started, new bedding sand, the replacement Tremron-compatible pavers or block, polymeric sand in the joints, and compaction. The price on the written estimate is the price you pay. If we find something under the surface that changes the scope, you’ll get a written change order before we touch it, not a surprise invoice at the end. Every repair carries our 90-Day Done Right Promise. If it settles again or the joint sand fails inside 90 days, we come back and make it right. One call.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely lift a loose Tremron paver and look underneath. If the sand bed is gone, that’s worth knowing. But here’s where DIY on this part goes sideways for Los Angeles homeowners: pulling up more than a few pavers without re-compacting the base means whatever you put back will settle within a year, and matching a five-year-old Tremron color you actually can’t tell what you’ve got until it’s next to the old work. If the affected area is bigger than a bathtub, or water is involved, the repair isn’t a paver swap, it’s a base and drainage fix, and that’s not a weekend project.
If what failed is a Tremron paver that sank or cracked and you’re not sure whether it’s the paver or the ground under it, call us at (877) 610-1318. We’ll look at it and tell you which one it is, and the estimate is free. No trip charge inside the county.
FAQs
A properly installed Tremron paver driveway in Los Angeles will last 25 to 40 years, with the pavers themselves outliving two or even three base rebuilds. What shortens that life here isn’t sun or street traffic; it’s water getting under the edge and the base failing, which usually happens by year 10 to 15 if the original install cut corners. Call (877) 610-1318 and we’ll tell you whether your pavers still have life in them.
A single cracked or chipped Tremron paver gets replaced, not glued, because any patch will crack again under vehicle weight the first hot summer after it’s applied. The bigger repair question is whether the paver failed on its own or the base under it failed first, and the way to know is to pull it and look. We’ll do that for free when you call us for an estimate.
A single-paver replacement or small section re-level takes half a day including compaction and re-sanding. A 100-square-foot section with base repair takes one to two days, and a full driveway replacement typically runs four to seven working days in Los Angeles, weather and city inspection timing depending. Call (877) 610-1318 and we’ll give you a straight answer for your specific repair.
We stock the most common Tremron driveway pavers and wall block in Los Angeles, including Classic and Olde Jacksonville sizes, and we can source Mega-Lafitt and specialty colors from local wholesale yards within three to five business days. If you’re not sure what series and color you have, send us a photo or describe what you’re seeing, and we’ll match it. Estimates are free.
