Simonton Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Simonton-compatible kitchen remodeling components across Los Angeles, with typical full kitchen remodels running $16,520 to $53,100 depending on cabinet count, countertop material, and layout complexity. Most owners call us after a drawer front splits, a hinge pulls loose from a soft-close mechanism, or a corner cabinet’s lazy Susan binds up from years of humidity. You’ll usually find us able to match the part from our truck stock or order it direct within a few days.

Which Simonton Models This Applies To

Simonton kitchens in Los Angeles fall into three broad lines we see most often: the Reflections series (mid-range, most common in homes built from the early 2000s forward), the ProFinish series (builder-grade, often installed in tract homes in the San Fernando Valley), and the Impressions series (premium, with deeper drawer boxes and heavier hardware). The catch with Simonton kitchen components specifically is that drawer glide brackets changed between 2015 and 2018 when the company shifted from side-mount to under-mount soft-close hardware. A bracket that fits a 2014 Reflections cabinet will not seat properly in a 2018 one, even if the drawer face looks identical. Check the stamp on the inside edge of the drawer box: if it says “SC-2014-R” or earlier, you need the older side-mount bracket. Anything marked 2018 or later takes the under-mount clip. We carry both on the truck for this exact reason. OEM Simonton parts are solid and we use them whenever the lead time works for you. For discontinued cabinet pulls or hinges we sometimes go with a quality aftermarket match from Top Knobs or Liberty, but only with your sign-off and only when the finish matches under natural light, not just under the showroom bulb.

Signs Your Simonton Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

Simonton kitchens give clear signals before a part fails outright. Here is what we hear about most in Los Angeles homes, especially older ones with original hardware from the early 2000s:

  • Drawer face gaps widen unevenly. The under-mount bracket has a plastic wear plate that flattens over time. Once it goes, the drawer sits cockeyed and rubs the cabinet face every time you open it.
  • Soft-close stops soft-closing. The piston inside the glide assembly loses its hydraulic charge. You can hear it: the drawer slams the last inch or two instead of feathering shut.
  • Corner cabinet lazy Susan grinds or sticks. Los Angeles has low humidity most of the year, but older Simonton lazy Susan bearings collect dust and dry out. The ring bearing seizes, and the whole shelf unit starts carving a groove into the cabinet floor.
  • Hinges on tall pantry doors sag. Simonton’s European-style hinges carry a lot of weight on a 96-inch pantry door. The plastic cup insert cracks, the door drops a half inch, and then the bottom of the door starts scraping the floor track.
  • Laminate begins to lift at sink base edges. This is a moisture issue specific to Simonton’s older particleboard sink cabinets. If you see swelling at the toe kick near the plumbing, water has been wicking in for months, and the cabinet floor is already compromised.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

In Los Angeles, a full Simonton-compatible kitchen remodel runs between $16,520 and $53,100. Here is where the money goes:

  • Kitchen Remodel (full): $16,520-$53,100
  • Small Kitchen Remodel: $10,620-$23,600
  • Cabinet Installation: $4,720-$15,340
  • Countertop Installation: $2,360-$7,670
  • Backsplash Installation: $945-$2,950
  • Kitchen Island Installation: $3,540-$11,800

Every line item is written down before the first cabinet comes off the wall. Labor, parts, permit fees, and debris hauling are all broken out separately so nothing surprises you at the end. If a price has to move because we found rotted framing behind a sink base, you get a written change order before we touch anything. That is not a courtesy in Los Angeles. That is the only way Tom Barrett will run a job. And the whole thing is covered by our 90-Day Done Right Promise. If something is not right, we come back and make it right, one call.

DIY or Call Us?

A homeowner can safely handle a few Simonton kitchen issues without us. You can tighten a loose hinge screw, adjust a drawer glide that slipped out of alignment, or replace a cabinet pull with a screwdriver. Those things are genuinely approachable. What we would not recommend is pulling a 96-inch pantry door off its hinges to replace a cracked plastic cup insert on your own. That door weighs more than most people expect, and if it tips while you are working the hinge screws, you are looking at a panel falling sideways and taking a chunk out of your refrigerator or your kneecap. Same with a seized lazy Susan ring: the shelf assembly is under tension when it binds, and prying on it can send the whole unit into the cabinet face. If your Simonton kitchen part is failing and you are not sure which side of that line you are on, call (877) 610-1318 and ask. Tom Barrett or one of his sons will give you a straight answer, and there is no trip charge inside the county.
