• Low spots that hold water after rain. This almost always means the compacted base under that section has washed out or settled. • Efflorescence or white chalky staining that won’t wash off. In Los Angeles’s dry-wet cycling, soluble salts in the concrete pavers rise to the surface and leave that white film. A sealer slows it, but the underlying moisture path through the base is what needs addressing on repeat offenders.
