Abodu Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

Abodu kitchen remodeling in Los Angeles typically runs $16,520 to $53,100 installed, depending on cabinet scope, countertop material, and whether we’re pulling permits and reworking plumbing or electrical. Most Abodu homeowners call us when cabinet boxes start delaminating at the seams or when the factory laminate counters have swollen at the sink edge. By the time you’re reading this, the kitchen’s already telling you what it needs. We stock Abodu-compatible cabinet hardware, hinge sets, and trim, and we can usually have a full remodel started within two to three weeks of the signed contract.

You’ll know it’s time when the soft-close hinges no longer catch, the drawer glides bind on one side, and the cabinet shells under the sink have gone soft from a slow moonshine leak. That’s the classic failure sequence in an Abodu kitchen we’ve torn apart more times than we can count.

Which Abodu Models This Applies To

Abodu kitchen builds we see across Los Angeles fall into two rough groups: the A-series modular kitchens built into the ADU shells from 2017 onward, and the smaller cabinetry packages that went into their backyard studios. The cabinets themselves are typically 5/8-inch laminated particleboard boxes with 3/4-inch MDF door and drawer fronts, finished in matte white, light oak laminate, or the gray-toned fluted fronts that showed up around 2021. If your drawer fronts have the horizontal ribbed or fluted pattern, that’s the newer production run, and hinge spacing changes slightly from the earlier slab doors.

Here’s the compatibility gotcha on Abodu specifically: the upper cabinet mounting rail spacing is metric, not standard 32-inch garage-rack spacing. A lot of off-the-shelf replacement cabinets from the big Los Angeles supply houses won’t line up without a filler strip. We account for that in every Abodu estimate, because nothing looks worse than a new wall cabinet row scarfed together with odd filler pieces. For hardware, the OEM soft-close hinges are generics that match a Grass or Blum compact pattern, and quality aftermarket equivalents work fine. The drawer glides are a standard 450mm side-mount, and that’s what we keep on the truck.

Signs Your Abodu Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

  • Soft-close hinges no longer close. The nylon dampener inside the hinge cup wears out, usually after five to seven years in a dry Los Angeles climate. The door slaps shut, and soon the hinge arm starts binding.
  • Drawer glides bind or rub on one side. The particleboard bottom sag or a loosened mounting screw walks one side of the drawer out of square. You’ll see uneven wear lines on the nylon rollers.
  • Cabinet box corners are separating at the seam. Laminate over particleboard starts to peel where heat from the oven vents hits the adjacent cabinet. That heat cycling is murder on the factory glue joints.
  • The sink base floor is soft, dark, or smells musty. Abodu sink plumbing is tight for space. A small drain leak that never gets fixed soaks the cabinet floor and the front toe-kick. Once it’s soft, the box can’t be saved.
  • Countertop laminate is lifting at the sink cutout. This is the one we see most in Los Angeles rental ADUs where a tenant never reported the drip. The substrate swells, the laminate delaminates, and the counter looks like a wave moving in slow motion.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full Abodu kitchen remodel in Los Angeles, expect $16,520 to $53,100. That spread covers the difference between swapping cabinet boxes and countertops in a compact ADU kitchen versus gutting the original and rebuilding it with KraftMaid cabinets, a Cambria or Silestone top, proper range ventilation, and a full tile backsplash. We also stock parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone when owners want to upgrade instead of replace what Abodu put in.

Scope Los Angeles Installed Price
Cabinet installation (Abodu-compatible or new) $4,720-$15,340
Countertop installation $2,360-$7,670
Backsplash installation $945-$2,950
Kitchen island installation $3,540-$11,800
Full Abodu kitchen remodel $16,520-$53,100

Every quote is a written line item. Parts, labor, the exact cabinet model, the stone slab charge, the permit fee, the disposal fee. If a plumbing rough-in has to move three inches, you’ll get a written change order before we touch it. That’s how Tom Barrett has run Barrett & Sons since 1998, and it’s why the final invoice always matches the last paper you signed. Every job carries our written 90-Day Done Right Promise.

DIY or Call Us?

Replacing hinge hardware and adjusting drawer glides is straightforward for a careful owner with a #2 Phillips and a 4mm hex driver. We’ll tell you the exact hinge pattern to order, and we’ll even sell you the parts at our cost if you want to handle it yourself. Where we draw the line is structural cabinet removal and any countertop work that involves the sink drain, the dishwasher line, or the garbage disposal. A bad pull-out on a glue-set particleboard box will take drywall and tiles with it. And if that sink base has been soaking, there’s a chance the plumbing under it is hanging on by a thread.

Call us at (877) 610-1318 and we’ll give you an honest read over the phone, then come take a look. We don’t charge a trip fee inside the county, and if you already have a written estimate from someone else, we’ll give you a free second opinion on it.
