Marvin pavers in Los Angeles are typically manufactured in 60mm and 80mm thicknesses for vehicular applications. The 60mm units are fine for pedestrian patios and walkways, but a driveway that will see pickups, SUVs, or the occasional delivery truck needs the 80mm thickness. If someone installed 60mm pavers on a driveway, that’s usually why they’re cracking.

To identify the right part, flip over a loose paver near the edge. You’ll find a manufacturer mark and a lot number stamped on the underside. That lot number matters because paver color varies from batch to batch, and matching a five-year-old installation with a new batch can leave you with a visible patch. We measure the actual units on site, not the nominal size, because Marvin’s chamfered edges mean a “4×8” paver lays up slightly differently than the raw dimension suggests. Signs Your Marvin Driveway & Pavers Is Failing

• Rocking or loose pavers underfoot. This means the bedding sand has eroded or compacted unevenly underneath. In Los Angeles, the wet-dry cycle of winter rains followed by summer heat accelerates this more than people expect.
