Belgard Construction in Fort Myers, CA | Barrett & Sons Construction

We provide independent Belgard paver and wall construction service across Fort Myers, from driveway rebuilds off McGregor Boulevard to patio work in Gateway. The thing that makes our Belgard work different here is that we build for what Ian left behind: revised flood maps, elevated slabs, and subgrades that behave differently than they did in 2021. If you’re pricing a Belgard driveway, patio, or retaining wall in Fort Myers, call us at (877) 610-1318 and we’ll walk the site before we quote a number.

Why Fort Myers Residents Choose Us for Belgard Service

We’re Barrett & Sons Construction, and Tom Barrett has been running crews since 1998. Our people work Belgard pavers and walls on post-Ian rebuilds and remodels in Fort Myers every week, and we know exactly how Cambridge Cobble pavers, Mega-Arbel pavers, and BelAir Wall systems hold up in Lee County heat, daily summer downpours, and shifting subgrades. We’re an independent contractor. No manufacturer ties, no warranty endorsements from Belgard. That matters because when something goes wrong with a paver base or a wall course, our first answer is what’s actually wrong, not what the manufacturer wants us to sell you.

Tom grew up in the San Fernando Valley, learned the trade at LA Trade-Tech, and has spent the better part of two decades building and remodeling homes. His sons run crews now. That’s who shows up at your door for Kitchen Remodeling in Fort Myers or any other project. Not a dispatcher. Not a subcontracted crew that never met the guy who signed the contract.

Common Belgard Construction Problems We Solve in Fort Myers

The same Belgard product line will behave differently in Fort Myers than it does inland, and we fix the failures that come from that. Here’s what we see most:

  • Efflorescence on Cambridge Cobble pavers. Fort Myers sits at 75%+ humidity most of the year, and the June-to-October wet season throws daily rainwater across paver surfaces. That repeated wetting pulls mineral salts up through the concrete, leaving a white chalky haze on Cambridge Cobble lots in older flat-drainage neighborhoods like 33901 and 33905. It’s not a manufacturing defect. It’s the water here, and we clean it and reseal it so it stays gone longer.
  • Settlement and rutting along paver driveways in 33908 and Iona. After Ian, a lot of properties on the south side of Fort Myers were rebuilt on fill-raised slabs or compacted fill that had to meet new elevation requirements fast. When subgrades weren’t compacted in lifts, Mega-Arbel and Cambridge Cobble pavers start to settle, rut, and separate within a year or two. We re-compact, re-set the base, and re-lay the pavers at the right grade.
  • Edge spalling on older Holland Stone walkways. Fort Myers gets intense UV exposure, then pressure-wash cycles after hurricane debris cleanup. That combination chips and fractures the edges of older Holland Stone pavers. We match the lot where we can and replace the broken pieces without tearing out the whole walkway.
  • Base erosion and joint washout near the Caloosahatchee. Patios and pool decks close to the water sit over saturated ground during the wet season. Sand-set joints wash out, the bedding sand erodes, and pavers start to rock. We re-screed with washed concrete sand and #57 stone, then lock the joints with polymeric sand that holds up to standing water better than bagged paver sand.
  • Retaining wall lean on BelAir Wall blocks. When a wall built before Ian got hit by storm surge and then sat through two wet seasons, the base course often shifts. We don’t just restack the blocks. We dig back, fix the drainage behind the wall, reset the base with proper aggregate, and then rebuild the courses. That’s the difference between a repair that lasts and one that leans again.

Belgard Service in Fort Myers: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

The thing nobody tells you about Belgard work in Fort Myers right now is how much the flood maps changed after Hurricane Ian. FEMA reclassified thousands of parcels in south Fort Myers and Iona, ZIP 33908, from Zone X to Zone AE. That means any Belgard paver driveway or patio on a substantially improved property now has to be built on a stabilized base that won’t erode beneath base flood elevation. That code trigger doesn’t apply across the river in Cape Coral, and it doesn’t apply down in Naples the same way. Around here, it changes how we bid, how we build, and how deep we go before the first paver gets set. If your lot was reclassified, your paver job isn’t a standard install anymore. It’s a flood-zone build, and it needs a base that’ll hold up under water and code review.

Belgard Models & Products We Service in Fort Myers

We work with Cambridge Cobble pavers, Mega-Arbel pavers, BelAir Wall systems, and Metro or Holland Stone pavers. When a paver needs replacing on an existing lot, we use genuine Belgard pavers and wall block so the color and dimensional tolerance match the original pour. When the base is the problem, we don’t use bagged paver sand. We bring in local #57 stone and washed concrete sand, because those are what hold up under Fort Myers wet-season conditions. If edge restraints, geotextile, or drain fabric are the real culprit, we repair those before we ever condemn a paver surface. We carry common Belgard replacement stock locally for fast turnaround across Fort Myers, so you’re not waiting weeks on a freight shipment when a section of your driveway gives out.

Belgard Service Pricing in Fort Myers

These are our current prices for the Belgard construction work we do most often in Fort Myers. Every job gets a written line-item quote before we start, and if the scope changes, you get a written change order before the work changes. We don’t surprise you at the end.

Service Price Range
Paver Driveway Installation $7,000-$18,000
Paver Patio Installation $3,500-$11,000
Concrete Driveway Installation $4,500-$12,000
Driveway Replacement $5,000-$14,000
Driveway Sealing $250-$700

The price moves on square footage, base depth, whether you’re in a Zone AE property that needs a stabilized subgrade, and how much of the old base we’re removing versus reusing. A free estimate means Tom or one of his sons comes out and looks at your actual site in Fort Myers, not a photo you emailed. Call (877) 610-1318 and we’ll set it up.
