Why Los Angeles Homeowners Choose Toto Construction

We provide independent Toto repair in Los Angeles, from full bathroom remodels built around a Nexus one-piece toilet to walk-in showers trimmed with Toto valves. Our crews work on real Toto fixtures in LA homes every week, which means we know how hard water in Encino scales a tornado-flush rim jet and how a 1950s rough-in complicates a Drake install in Highland Park. We are not authorized by Toto and we never claim to be. We’re a local, owner-operated construction company founded in 1998, and we service and install Toto products with a depth most general contractors can’t match. Call (877) 610-1318 for a free estimate on any Toto-related job.

Why Trust Barrett & Sons Construction for Your Toto Construction?

Tom Barrett grew up in the San Fernando Valley, learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, and has spent the better part of two decades building and remodeling homes across Los Angeles. When it comes to Toto specifically, our field crews have worked on enough Nexus, Soiree, EcoMax, and Drake fixtures to know which parts fail, why they fail in this city, and what actually fixes them. The permit inspector works for you, not for me, and the same goes for the fixture manufacturer. We use OEM Toto gaskets, fill valves, and flush towers when available, because the tornado-flush internals on a Nexus don’t tolerate aftermarket shortcuts. But we’ll also tell you straight when a quality aftermarket wax ring or braided supply line is the smarter call. We’re not a franchise dispatching strangers. Tom’s sons run the crews, and every job carries the 90-Day Done Right Promise in writing. We’ll do it right the first time, or we’ll come back and make it right.

Common Toto Construction Problems We Fix in Los Angeles

Los Angeles water and Los Angeles ground movement create a specific set of Toto failure patterns. Here’s what we see most often, in terms a homeowner can check:

  • Mineral scale plugging tornado-flush rim jets on Nexus models. Hard water zones like Encino, Tarzana, and much of the Valley send dissolved calcium and magnesium through Toto’s tornado-flush rim jets on Nexus one-piece toilets. Over two or three years, scale narrows those jets enough that flush pressure drops and the bowl doesn’t clear. The fix is descaling the rim with a mild acid, not replacing the toilet. We do this on service calls and we show owners how to maintain it.
  • Cracked vitreous china bowls from seismic shifting. Los Angeles sits atop active fault systems that include the Hollywood, Puente Hills, and Newport-Inglewood faults, not just the distant San Andreas. When an old wax ring hardens and a small quake shifts the floor, the toilet base can torque against the flange. Vitreous china doesn’t flex. It cracks, usually at the base or around the horn. If the china is cracked, we replace the bowl. No repair fixes cracked china.
  • Soiree sink drain flanges leaking after countertop replacement. We see this constantly after a kitchen or bath countertop goes in and the installer reuses a non-OEM rubber washer under a Toto Soiree pedestal sink drain flange. That washer compresses unevenly, dries out, and leaks within a year. We use the OEM gasket and torque the flange correctly. It’s a small detail that keeps water out of the cabinet.
  • Drake flush tower gasket tears causing phantom refill cycling. A Toto Drake that refills every 40 minutes but never visibly flushes usually has a torn flush tower gasket. The seal sits at the bottom of the tower, and when it tears, water seeps from the tank to the bowl. The flapper looks fine because a Drake doesn’t have a traditional flapper. We stock OEM flush tower gaskets and replace them on the spot.
  • EcoMax fill valve failures in homes with older copper supply lines. Corroded copper flex lines shed fine debris that jams Toto EcoMax fill valve diaphragms. The symptom is slow refill or a fill valve that runs constantly. We replace the fill valve with OEM and swap the old copper flex for a braided line with a dielectric fitting so the new valve doesn’t eat the same debris.

Toto Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

We stock OEM Toto gaskets, fill valves, flush towers, and trip levers in our local inventory so the most common Toto repairs in Los Angeles don’t wait on a parts house order. For wax rings, braided supply lines, and angle stops, we carry quality aftermarket brands we’ve used for years and trust. The rule is simple: anything inside the Toto fixture gets OEM, anything connecting the fixture to the house gets the best available part for the job. When a customer asks whether to repair or replace, we follow the china. A Drake or EcoMax with a spalled or cracked bowl gets replaced. The same model with a bad fill valve or a torn tower gasket gets rebuilt for far less. A Nexus or Soiree only gets replaced when the bowl itself is compromised, not just the guts. Call (877) 610-1318 and we’ll tell you which side of that line your fixture falls on.

Our Toto Service Process - Step by Step

Here’s how a Toto job runs with us, whether it’s a toilet swap, a vanity hookup, or a full bathroom remodel built around Toto fixtures:

  1. 1
Diagnosis on site. We inspect the fixture, test water pressure at the supply line, and check floor level with a 4-foot level. A Toto toilet that rocks on an uneven floor will always leak, no matter which gasket sits under it.
  2. 2
Written scope and price. Before we touch anything, you get a written scope and a line-item price. If the scope changes, the change order arrives in writing before we proceed. An allowance that isn’t on paper is a surprise waiting for a date.
  3. 3
Repair or install. We use OEM Toto internals where they matter and quality aftermarket parts where they don’t. Every rough-in is checked against the model’s spec, which matters on older Los Angeles homes where a 10-inch rough-in won’t take a 12-inch bowl without a cheat we won’t do.
  4. 4
Test under real conditions. We cycle the flush or the valve multiple times, check for leaks at the flange and supply, and run a dye test on the flush tower seal. Then we watch it through one more cycle an hour later before we leave.
  5. 5
Done Right Promise in writing. Every job carries the 90-Day Done Right Promise, written on the contract. If it’s not done right, Tom comes back and makes it right. One call.

Toto Products We Service & Install in Los Angeles

We work on the Toto lines Glendale and Los Angeles homeowners actually own. Nexus one-piece toilets with tornado flush. Drake two-piece toilets, the workhorse of LA rentals and remodels alike. EcoMax and EcoPower models found in hillside homes where water pressure runs low. Soiree pedestal sinks and coordinated lavatory suites. We also integrate Toto shower valves, trim kits, and fixture sets into full bathroom remodels, walk-in shower builds, and vanity replacements. Locally, we stock common internals for all four lines so most service calls resolve in one trip.

We Also Service These Brands

Toto is a big part of our bathroom work, but we’re not a single-brand shop. We carry and install KraftMaid cabinetry, Cambria and Silestone countertops, and Kohler fixtures across Los Angeles. When a remodel calls for a Toto toilet next to a Kohler tub filler and a Cambria vanity top, we handle the whole scope in-house.
